Acoustic fire seal

Advanced Protection, Superior Finish

Acoustic fire seal (also called a fire-acoustic seal, acoustic intumescent seal, or combined fire & sound seal) is a specialized sealing component used in building construction to simultaneously:

Prevent or slow the spread of fire and smoke across joints, penetrations, or gaps, and Reduce sound transmission (noise) between compartments or rooms. Thus, it serves a dual role: fire protection (part of passive fire safety) + sound insulation.

Unlike ordinary fire seals, acoustic fire seals are engineered with materials and geometry that help block or damp sound energy, while also expanding or activating under heat to maintain fire-resistance continuity.

KEY BENEFITS:

✅ Fire safety compliance: In fire-rated walls, partitions, doors, or penetrations, an acoustic fire seal helps maintain the fire resistance (i.e. the time a wall resists fire) by sealing gaps and preventing fire/smoke passage.

✅ Noise control: Gaps, joints, or penetrations can be weak points for sound leakage — acoustic fire seals help “seal the leaks” and reduce transmission of airborne sound.

✅ Multifunctional performance: Instead of installing separate fire seals and acoustic seals, a combined solution saves space, simplifies design, and reduces installation complexity.

✅ Air leakage, smoke control, and comfort: By sealing gaps, they also help control airflow, dust, insects, and improve overall airtightness and comfort.

✅ Regulation and certification requirements: Many building codes and fire safety standards require both fire stops and acoustic performance in commercial, institutional, and residential buildings, especially in walls, floors, doors, and service penetrations.

How It Works

In normal conditions, our acoustic fire seal forms a continuous barrier that resists air, dust, and sound.

Under heat, the intumescent component expands, filling gaps and maintaining the seal against fire and smoke.

The combined structure ensures that both fire resistance and acoustic performance remain intact across a variety of joint sizes and movement.
